With just over a month to go, we were keen to have a chat with Christopher, the new first-team coach.
How do you feel after just a few weeks in the first team?
I'm feeling really good. A lot of hard work went into rebuilding a competitive team following the departure of a number of players. It wasn't all plain sailing, but the jigsaw has been put together and the engine has been revived. There was a lot of discussion with the management to ensure that everything worked in the right direction, and today I'm very happy at Lausanne City as we head into the end of the season.
"I have the feeling that they are really part of a family and want to move forward hand in hand. I expect them to fight for each other, for the goal we've set ourselves and for the club".
How do you rate this winter preparation?
It was a very complicated start. We started with a heavy defeat, but in the end it was logical. I was able to try out a number of players and when you're not ready tactically, technically, physically or mentally, that makes the task even harder. But after a few days' work, the players slowly came to understand my philosophy of play and some fine performances followed against some fine 3rd league teams. I'm taking a lot of positives from these friendlies. I can see that day after day, my players are really starting to rediscover the will to win. We're going to keep working, improve the team and grow with each game.

The club has been very active this mercato. Are you satisfied with the contingent and what do you expect from them?
I'm very happy with the squad and the players who arrived during the winter transfer window. The transfers have enhanced the team and added value to the players who made it through the first round. I've been able to win over some former players with whom I've worked in the past. That saved me time, knowing that they were familiar with my playing philosophy. The team will be fine when everyone is physically up to scratch and they can play some good football.

I'm really happy to be part of this club and this project. The grey clouds have gone and the sun is back. Now the aim is to keep the skies blue and bring my experience to this team. Always stay positive. Never anything negative, that's my philosophy.
