Meet Mattia Deon, the club's legal manager.

The club's management is pleased to introduce Mattia Deon as Lausanne City's new head of legal affairs. He agreed to answer a few questions so that we could get to know him better.

First of all, how are you ?

Hello, I'm doing very well and very happy to be part of this wonderful project.

Tell us about yourself in a few words!

I've been passionate about football since I was very young. Having played goalkeeper for several years, I did my junior football with Lausanne-Sport and Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy. During my career, I was lucky enough to take part in the Swiss B Inter finals on two occasions.

In 2009, I was asked to accompany the Spanish ambassador during the Euro U17 qualifying rounds in Switzerland. This gave me the opportunity to meet a number of players currently playing for some of Europe's biggest clubs.

In 2010-2011, I had the opportunity to be an assistant coach at Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy.

As far as my professional background is concerned, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Master's degree in Law from the University of Lausanne, which I obtained in 2017 and 2019 respectively. During my time at university, I had the privilege of taking part in and winning two honourable mentions in the 26th edition of the world's most prestigious competition for law students, "The William C".

My mother tongue is Spanish, French and Italian, but I am also fluent in English and Portuguese. I also have some knowledge of German.

What motivated you to join Lausanne City ?

Firstly, my friendship with the club president, Mario Marques. We've known each other since we were kids, and our passion for football has always linked us, along with other interests. Then, of course, there's the project. It's an innovative, attractive project that will undoubtedly add something to current football.

"It's an innovative, attractive project that will undoubtedly add value to today's football."

What is your role within Lausanne City ?

My role within the club is to ensure that the club runs smoothly from a legal point of view. And, of course, to protect the club's interests both internally and externally.

What do you think of the CITY project ?

As I explained earlier, this is a very ambitious project and I hope we'll succeed.

What can we wish you ?

The best thing for the club is that we achieve the objectives set out in this project.

Première édition de la City Cup.
